Valentine Treats Round 1

February 12, 2009

So today is party day for Mackenna (age 3)  at her “school”. We have the cheetos ready  to go  - gotta love her teachers they let me sign up first this time so of course I went for super easy! Next we need valentine treats. Patrick offered to buy some when he went to get the cheetos. STORE BOUGHT VALENTINE’S?!? How dare he insult me like that! How dare he take away the creative opportunity for his child! Shame on him…what WAS he thinking?

Here they are in all their glory and YES she did help with assembly. Yes, some of the hearts are a little off center, well downright crooked, and I did NOT adjust them. I’m growing people, I’m growing!

Mackenna's Valentine Treats

I flipped one over so you could see the back - the flowers as she calls them - too cute of her! They sent home a list of names but I um, well, the dog ate them. What? We don’t have a dog! Well, now that you mention it, you’re right. Hmmmm, guess I lost the list.  Who cares? They are THREE for crying out loud! They just want the sucker and will have this paper shredded in 0.3 seconds flat!

I also made a little, let me stress little here folks, something for her teachers. I usually don’t do anything and then I feel tremendous guilt when I see all these fabulous mom’s bringing in flowers and candy and whatnot so this year I have a gift. Don’t laugh too hard…

Valentine Gift

It’s one of those acrylic magnetic photo frames jazzed up a bit. Yes, I considered adding ribbon but I couldn’t find a place where it didn’t monopolize the whole frame so I gave up.  So it’s not flowers or candy but they know I adore them and I take care of them at Christmas enough to last the whole year. I will not feel guilty and you can not make me!

And of course I can’t leave you without showing a picture of a little something else I helped to create…

Surprise!

December 29, 2008

I am so happy to report that this box did indeed trick the recipient! One special husband ordered the items he was told for Christmas and we managed to keep it a secret! Dotti manages to find out everything so this is a huge feather in my cap :)

Hope you enjoy your goodies Dotti! You know I love you!

Merry Christmas!

December 24, 2008

Hope that you and yours are enjoying this holiday season. We are lucky enough not to have to travel today or tomorrow. Today we have all to ourselves and it’s awesome! The girls and Patrick are baking/decorating some cookies right now, I’ve been wrapping presents!

One lucky gal has this lovely present under her tree full of SU! goodies today! Hope you enjoy it Tammy!

And here’s a close up of the bow and tag - I was so pleased with myself! I made the tag using the Big Shot with our *exclusive* Top Note die out of the same wrapping paper - how smart am I? And then since the top note is perforated I ran another using Confetti White so I could trim it and use it for a greeting.  The snowflake is also a die cut with a little glue pen action and Dazzling Diamonds! Everything needs a little sparkle <wink>

Oh and the ribbon and wrapping paper are all from SU! - retired from 2007 Holiday Mini. I love the ribbon it’s so luxurious mabye we’ll see it again one day.

I’m off to wrap more presents - Merry Christmas to you!

Another Let it Snow idea

December 23, 2008

Did you mean to send holiday cards but ran out of time? Don’t worry you aren’t alone! With the stress that leads up to Christmas it’s hard to find time to get it all done. For this reason some people have started sending cards after Christmas to start the new year.  I think this is a great idea and allows you to relax while creating at the same time. A non Christmasy stamp set is perfect and I love Big on Christmas. Here’s another idea for a card (along with directions).

Spooky Decor Elements

October 31, 2008

I’m in serious love with our Decor Elements line! They are so easy to use and turn ordinary items into WOW! items with such little effort.

Here’s a spooky bucket that I made for Halloween -

Patrick picked up this bucket from a local home improvement store along with a can of orange spray paint. I sprayed it inside and out waited impatiently for it to dry! The painting/drying process was the longest part of this project. Wait, no the driving to the store and back would be the longest part :)

Anyway, once dry I applied the Spooky Spider Decor Element and VOILA! a candy holder or fill it with party favors for a school party (like I did for Audrey’s class). Easy peasy and super cute!

Happy Halloween!
