Valentine Treats Round 1

February 12, 2009

So today is party day for Mackenna (age 3)  at her “school”. We have the cheetos ready  to go  - gotta love her teachers they let me sign up first this time so of course I went for super easy! Next we need valentine treats. Patrick offered to buy some when he went to get the cheetos. STORE BOUGHT VALENTINE’S?!? How dare he insult me like that! How dare he take away the creative opportunity for his child! Shame on him…what WAS he thinking?

Here they are in all their glory and YES she did help with assembly. Yes, some of the hearts are a little off center, well downright crooked, and I did NOT adjust them. I’m growing people, I’m growing!

Mackenna's Valentine Treats

I flipped one over so you could see the back - the flowers as she calls them - too cute of her! They sent home a list of names but I um, well, the dog ate them. What? We don’t have a dog! Well, now that you mention it, you’re right. Hmmmm, guess I lost the list.  Who cares? They are THREE for crying out loud! They just want the sucker and will have this paper shredded in 0.3 seconds flat!

I also made a little, let me stress little here folks, something for her teachers. I usually don’t do anything and then I feel tremendous guilt when I see all these fabulous mom’s bringing in flowers and candy and whatnot so this year I have a gift. Don’t laugh too hard…

Valentine Gift

It’s one of those acrylic magnetic photo frames jazzed up a bit. Yes, I considered adding ribbon but I couldn’t find a place where it didn’t monopolize the whole frame so I gave up.  So it’s not flowers or candy but they know I adore them and I take care of them at Christmas enough to last the whole year. I will not feel guilty and you can not make me!

And of course I can’t leave you without showing a picture of a little something else I helped to create…

Happy Birthday Uncle Moo!

December 22, 2008

My youngest brother is celebrating his 22nd birthday today so I wanted to make sure he knew we were thinking about him. Audrey is very upset that she “missed his party” :) Little does she know that the kind of parties college kids have aren’t the same she has - if you know what I mean! But we love you Uncle Moo and miss you terribly! Sorry we couldn’t be with you today <HUGS>

The 2nd baby tooth

October 24, 2008

WOW! I can’t believe Audrey is big enough to be losing baby teeth but she is. This one was pulled though and you would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to watch the drama!

At one point she said she was going to blow her nose and locked herself in our bathroom! I thought it was hysterical, Patrick not so much :) In the end Patrick pulled it (it was barely hanging in there) and Audrey did not die from the pain.

She refused to deal with the Tooth Fairy last night. The whole experience was too much for her. So today she has the tooth with her at school for show and tell. Apparently one of the kids is always bringing in something for show and tell so she was in her glory I’m sure talking about her tooth. (Poor teacher, 17 kids each bringing something “fabulous” during the week. No telling what all she sees!)

Anyway just had to document the occasion so I’d always remember the 1st time she locked herself in the bathroom. I think starting at 5 is a little early, don’t you?

Cute little flower

October 5, 2008

Here’s a super easy way to personalize a kid’s room - DECOR ELEMENTS! I found this little flower on clearance for $2.99 and since Mac’s room is pink and green it was calling her name. Decor Elements is so super easy I actually applied this at a Stamp Insanity class that Julie and I had in July. It was the first one that I had applied and I did it right in front of all our attendees - I’m such a brave soul!

It’s super cute and when I’m not carting it off to show at a party or class she’s using it for tea parties!

The second phase of Decor Elements has been introduced and if you haven’t seen them you are missing out! New images, new colors, holiday items … the possibilities are endless!

SOLVED…The case of the missing TP!

September 29, 2008

So this isn’t stamping related but it is Mom related and I’m a MOM! I have to share because so many of you who know my children will laugh and laugh at this, maybe I will tomorrow. Today though my arms are still tingly from the up to the elbow scrubbing they received (imagine a doc prepping for surgery) just moments ago. Read more
