Leadership 2009 The Disney Adventure
January 15, 2009
Well, let me just say I never dreamed that Julie Salva would be the Disney freak that she is! I know from our last trip to Leadership (2008 in Palm Springs) that she’s a pop culture wacko. I discovered this after she told me of our next day’s plans which were all based on Britney Spears sightings hahahaha.
Anyway, Georgia Giguere and I decided we were brave enough to go the distance with Julie and her crazy plan of doing all adult rides in all 4 parks in one day. I knew for certain that we would die but it actually turned into a wonderful day. Other than requesting permission to use the restroom, get water or take pictures, it was a fabulous adventure!
Of course it began with me oversleeping and missing their FREE shuttle to Epcot. So I had a super expensive cab ride but managed to meet up with them on time. If only I had slept the night before we traveled I might not have overslept. Oh well, I still made it.
So here are some pictures of us in Disney mode - Julie really didn’t allow many photos much to my chagrin!
Epcot - the beginning (all the parks still had Christmas decorations)
Our 1st ride in the front of the monorail
It’s interesting to note here that Georgia didn’t know about “Disney Magic”. It’s sufficient to say that she does now! We were blessed with the magic all day. We rode with the engineer/driver/pilot/whatever of the monorail twice. This picture was taken by the first driver. The next pic is of our 2nd driver.
He was quite funny and also quite scared when we announced loudly “We are here WITHOUT CHILDREN!”. So he basically laughed at our insanity during the ride which was fine by us.
I did manage to get Julie to stop for a photo upon arrival at Magic Kingdom. I love the Mickey in the background…
And of course each park has their own Christmas themed tree - very cool to see….
Well cool until Julie jumps into the shot. She thinks we all need to see her beauty frequently
We LOVED the rocking Roller Coaster
While in line for the coaster we eyed our next ride nervously. We could see the doors opening and hear the people screaming. Of course then Kim texts me that someone lost their FEET on that ride. Julie, knower of all things Disney, denied that accusation. Georgia decided that she might have an actual heart attack if we rode it. We debated it the whole time waiting for the coaster.
Georgia looks as if she might cry. Julie looks a little evil
Our “elevator dude” and of course Julie is getting her mug in the photo. Funny side note - elevator dude was quick to tell me he lost his real name tag and that his name isn’t Cameron. Wonder if he just said that because we were so crazy and he knew he’d end up on a blog like this ?!?!
Here’s our picture while we were on the ride - yes we are too cheap to buy the real photo - I snapped this one as we went through the lobby/store area.
Okay I’m going to end this post here. We still have Animal Kingdom to cover and a brief trip into MGM. I’ll do those in the next round.

I’m still laughing at your photos, but mostly at your creative narration! It was sooooooooo much fun and your blog entry brought the sweet memories flooding back. . . now I’m missing you two nuts like crazy! (Really I’m missing the warm weather. . .it’s 21 below zero here!)
I miss you too GG! I told Patrick this morning the story about our “safe” word - he knows I’m crazy but I think you and Julie have officially been branded as crazy too!
