Leadership 2009 - Disney Part 2
January 24, 2009
It took us less time to spend our day in Disney than it’s taken for me to get this post together!
Okay so next up we went to Animal Kingdom as presented by Vanna White…
Oh wait, that’s me
On to the animals…
Luckily these two were contained or I would have been VERY scared!
My memory is hazy but I think we rode Mt. Everest first. I loved the ride even when it went backwards and I was scared silly! However, take a look at this picture and imagine yourself in a car at the very top of the peak and you look around to see NOTHING around you.
That’s right - it’s just you in the car and the drop straight down. I’ll admit I’m a chicken, I closed my eyes as tight as possible until we started moving again. Oh and it’s interesting to note that I rode by myself for most of the rides allowing Julie and Georgia to be together - I’m so sweet. Most of the rides it was fine and I rode alone. However, this ride was popular (and again hazy memory here) we may have gone the single rider route to get through more quickly.
(edited to add: NO, NO, NO - sudden memory recall I think this is the ride that Georgia worked her Disney magic. As we were about to go through the single rider line Georgia sweet talked some Fast Passes out of some very innocent Disney dude - I didn’t ask what she traded for the tickets  kidding Georgia, ya know I LOVE ya!)
Anyway, whatever/however it happened I ended up with this dude with me. It was sooooooo funny! Julie said that when they told him to get in the queue with me the look on his face was priceless. He acted as if I were diseased so I didn’t even try to show him any Southern hospitality since he flinched every time I looked at him! When we were at the top of the peak he was hanging out his side of the car and yelling in some unknown language back to some of his friends. Um, okay. I wish I could have snapped a picture of him and all his uniqueness but he was terrified enough as it was.
Next up we rode the safari thingy since Georgia had not experienced such excitement in her previous Disney days. It was one of the few rides we were able to do with the girls when we went! I have animal pictures but apparently they aren’t on this laptop. So imagine wild life pictures

Okay enough of those savage beasts.
Finally we finished the round with Epcot our original meeting point that morning. We walked around through all the countries just taking it easy since we had made our goal! Oh and Julie did allow us to have a photo…
All in all it was a fabulous day! I never dreamed we would get it all done but Julie was true to her word and amazing in her abilities of leading the clueless “ahead of the surge” the whole day long! Love ya Julie!
